Short Bio
Robert joined LeADs in November 2021 as an early-stage researcher. He will be researching whether and how neuromarketing can affect the human rights of individuals (ESR 14). In conjunction with his responsibilities to LeADS, he is enrolled in the National Doctorate in Artificial Intelligence and is a researcher at the LIDER Laboratory, Scoula Superiore Sant’Anna.
Research project
Project Title: Neuromarketing and mental integrity between market and human rights
Objectives: Contribute to the ongoing discussion between the roles of ethical and legal governance of AI, investigate the nature and effectiveness of neuromarketing algorithms and whether such algorithms could violate the cognitive liberty or mental integrity of Europeans, and discover and/or develop technical tools which can ensure such algorithms meet the requirements of the Artifical Intelligence Act in a “trustworthy” manner.
